Some time ago, Barrister and Mann® had the extraordinary fortune to obtain a sample of the discontinued, leathery perfume base Mousse de Saxe. Armed with only this small sample and historical records of what went into the original, we set out to re-create the famous design by smell alone.

We blend our version of Mousse de Saxe with lavender, vanilla, cedar, and elegant musk to create a dark, leathery, elegant soap unlike anything seen for nearly a half century.
In addition to the famous base, the aromatic composition contains notes of vanilla, lavender, cedar, musk and Saxon moss. This soap lathers up into a rich lather that you can use a shaving bowl to extract.
The manufacturer recommends using a synthetic brush, as a brush with natural bristles may become discolored due to the vanillin in the shaving soap.
